Traits of a Leader: Needed by Pakistan – My Opinion

As the election is drawing near and near, the bickering between the leaders and parties and each party supporters is getting louder and uglier. As i look around in my country i feel sad to see that i dont feel any party leader is able to take Pakistan to the road of progress and prosperity. These are just my views and you can sure disagree and feel that other traits are more important.

Truthfulness (Sacha)

somebody asked Prophet (SAW) that can a momin be coward? Prophet (SAW) said yes a momin can be a coward. he asked about few other traits too, that can they be in a momin and Prophet (SAW) said yes momin can have these traits too. Lastly he asked if a momin can be a liar? and Prophet (SAW) said NO, Momin can never be a liar..!!

So obviously this is the first trait which i believe that a leader got to have, to take Pakistan on the road of prosperity and progress. But to achieve this a leader will need to cut down giving statements, cut down appearing on talk-shows. The more you speak the more chances you will be lying. I read somewhere (i dont have the source right now) that Quaid-e-Azam use to give very few statements, hardly couple of statements a month. So if a leader cut down on his statement, it will help him in avoiding saying lies and will have more meat in their statements.

Uniter:

This is the second most important trait for the leader in my view and the most important trait lacking in our leaders. This country has already been divided in so many segments and sect, that we need a leader who can unite this country and the people. This statement does not mean that he should Unite with the corrupt, immoral and traitor leaders. But he should unite all the segments of the society on the issues Pakistan is facing including finding a durable & fair solution for fighting corruption.

Right now we have leaders who give big statement calling opponents as chalees chor and making claims that they will hang opposition and bla bla bla but practically none of them will file the case against the corrupt politicians, rather they welcome them if they join them.  Nobody tries to bring back the corruption money. Nobody tries to fight corruption through justice. But every leader is ready to stand on the podium and do a blazing hot speech against his/her opponents. You ask them a question they will start replying by putting dirt on other and in the end you will be lucky to get an answer to your original question from them.

The problem it has created in my view is that the supporters of each significant party has gone an extra mile in creating more hatred and biasness against others and fragmenting the society even more. We dont even call a good deed, a good deed if its done by our opponent party leader. Quran has a beautiful saying for this:

And do not let the hatred of a people for having obstructed you from al-Masjid al-haram lead you to transgress. And cooperate in righteousness and piety, but do not cooperate in sin and aggression. (Chapter 5, Verse 2)

The followers or fans have simply stopped accepting any good from anyone other than their leader and they have made their leader as the angels from heavens. In my humble view this attitude is not going to take us anywhere even if we find best of the leader, because even if someone tries to do good others try to do opposite of it.. We already see this attitude in our life. One bad leader will start a very good project for the community and when he goes out of power, the other good or bad leader will immediately stop that project out of hatred, not only money and time is lost but the wheel of progress is turned backward. And the worst part is that the supporter of the leader will consider it right and will keep on fighting for the wrong cause.

I dont want it too long or too boring, so i will just that we need a leader who can bring consensus, who can appreciate the good done by others, who can second the positive step by others and finally who can avoid wasting time in putting allegation and name calling on speeches and talk shows and i think it will do a ton of good for the public and society. I am not saying he should stop in ending corruption by other, but we have a judicial system and it should be used for exposing and proving corruptions by others. Speeches and talk shows are not for it.. You may do a speech in the court while presenting your arguments, but without evidence and without filing cases, doing it on the talk shows i think is not healthy for the leader and especially not healthy for the nation building.

A verse by the great poet Allama Iqbal,

ہو حلقہء یاراں تو ریشم کی طرح نرم
رزم حق و باطل ہو تو فولاد ہے مومن

Three Questions of Malik Riaz & Media

Malik Riaz’s three questions are the highlight of the news media from couple of days. The press conference by Malik Riaz was centered around three questions. These three questions are being highlighted as some very fundamental or important questions. But just for a moment lets clear our heads from all the counter answers given by the anchors to these questions and look at the importance of these questions.

First Question is CJ should tell Malik Riaz how many times CJ met in the darkness of the night.
Now the question is why should this be considered as an offense. It can only be considered wrong or inappropriate if the media or the people find that CJ has given benefit or relief to the Malik Riaz after meeting with him. Giving answer that CJ met Malik Riaz while he was inactive is not required. This meeting does not need any justification as nothing wrong in the court has been done by the CJ.

Second Question raised by Malik Riaz is that CJ should tell how many times CJ met PM.
Now this question is also at the height of the stupidity and i wander why it is given any importance. CJ meeting with the PM is not a crime. If it is a crime then CJ should give any justification. Neither these meetings has given any benefit to the PM in the cases he appeared. So why this is even considered a question.

Third Question raised by Malik Riaz is that how long ago CJ knew this case and why he didnt take suo moto action on it earlier.
Now question is that this thing appeared on news media only recently and within couple of day took suo motu action. Now if Cj start taking suo motu action on everything he hears then i think it will open another criticism on CJ taking suo motu action on his biases as he is already criticized heavily on taking too many suo motu actions. Now CJ took the suo motu actions because it was hitting on the CJ and on the Supreme court credibility.

So in my humble view these are really silly and stupid questions. They are not even questions for Chief Justice. These are not anything on which Chief Justice needs to answer. or the public needs to know the answer of these question. Public’s only concern is that is the just & fair trial given in all the cases by the CJ. and are all the verdicts fair and unbiased without giving any benefit or relief or relaxation to any culprit. Which i feel is evident so far from the CJ history.

Now i have four questions from the media.

  • Why media does not ask Malik Riaz why he didnt file the FIR or went to the court for this case earlier as he already have some of the top lawyers of Pakistan including Aitazaz Ahsan??
  • Why media does not ask How Arsalan Iftikhar was black mailing him? what were the short comings of Malik Riaz on which he was black mailing.??
  • Why media does not ask Malik Riaz that is it not black mailing that he is giving all the videos and recording and shopping receipts of Arsalan Iftikhar to the media.?
  • Why media does not ask malik riaz that why his press conference is on CJ when the case is against the Arsalan Iftikhar. ??

I hope we see true analytical skills and proper news on the media instead of sensationalism and highlighting of the silly things.

Muhajir Identity in Pakistan – A Secular Perspective

Recently lot of current affairs programs are going on Muhajir Province movement. Most of the anchors & guests repeatedly stress to the Muhajir Sooba Tehreek’s representative that instead of calling yourself Muhajir, you should call yourself Pakistani & Sindhi. They also say that when we have Pakistan as an identity then why insist on another identity.

Though this federationist looking suggestion appeals in the beginning in actuality it has many contradiction from our recent democratic history. Lets discuss few examples.
1. Renaming of NWFP
At the time of 18th amendment, the democratic forces all over Pakistan voted for renaming of NWFP to Khyber Pakhtunkhuwa. The president of Federation of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari repeatedly said that it was Peoples Party during which tenure people of NWFP got their identity. Now question arises which identity did they get.? is Pakistan not their identity? Ofcourse it is. But do they need some other identity within the territory of Pakistan and if they need then if some other group ask identity in a similar way then why they are asked to use the identity of Pakistan.
2. Voices for Seraiki Province
President of federation of Pakistan was the first person from the official cadre of Pakistan who strongly voiced in favor of Seraiki Province. Slogans were raised that Seraiki People will no longer be under the tyrannt rule of Takht-e-Lahore. Those who know the history of Punjab the word Punjab was coined during Akbar’s era for Lahore & Multan Provinces jointly. Geography also confirms this because the confluence of these five Punj-ab rivers lie in muzaffargarh district, seraiki belt in southern Punjab. If the people of multan region are encouraged not to call themselves as punjabi but identify themselves as another term Seraiki then why a community living in Sindh Province is forced to identify themselves as Sindhi. It also need to be highlighted that multiple speeches by PM Yousaf Raza Gillani has been strongly in favor of Seraiki province.
3. Historic Identity
According to the Oxford Dictionary NATION is a large body of people united by common descent, history, culture, or language, inhabiting a particular state or territory. After 1947 mass migration took place and a huge influx of refugees in the provinces of Punjab & Sindh changed the demography of these provinces. In case of Punjab after the initial turbulent period, the frictions among local & immigrant community (which came from rajputana, harayana, delhi & western UP along with east Punjab) died down and a new unified culture emerged, which was distinct from the neighboring Indian Punjab culture. So in this regard it can be said that immigrant in punjab province assimilated into the local fabric. But in case of Sindh Province this assimilation did not take place. Though immigrants in sindh Province were from many parts of India like Rajputana, Gujarat, Maharastra, Hyderabad Deccan & north india which had different linguistic and cultural backgrounds but in Sindh they fused together to create a new cultural and linguistic identity which is much distant from the local Sindhi culture. We are not discussing here what were the reason which contributed in creating this new identity (distinct from the regional identity) which did not happen in case of Punjab but it is a ground reality and it can not be ignored. It can be said that linguistically & historically & culturally this new Muhajir Identity is more different from Sindhi identity in Sindh Province than the difference of Seraiki Identity from Punjabi Identity in Punjab Province.

Conclusion

From this whole discussion i am not saying that i am in favor of promoting the regional identities or linguistic provinces within the territory of Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Its obvious from my other blogs regarding new administrative units in Pakistan that i am in favor of strengthening the national identity, which is of course PAKISTANI.  In reflection to the recent decisions made by the governments and the political parties regarding ethno-linguistic politics, if some group demands something on the streets of Karachi on same ethno-linguistic grounds we cannot force them to identify themselves just as Sindhis and Pakistanis. As the attitude of the government is entirely different for the similar reasons in Punjab & KPK.

As the last words i will say

بتان رنگ وخون کو توڑ کر ملت میں گم ہو جا
نہ  تورانی  رہے  باقی ، نہ  ایرانی ، نہ  افغانی

Butan-E-Rang-O-Khoon Ko Todh Kar Millat Mein Gum Ho Ja
Na Toorani Rahe Baqi, Na Irani Na Afghani

Perception versus Reality (All About Imran Khan)

It is a common perception in today’s politics that Imran Khan will change the politics in pakistan. or change the future of the Pakistan for the better.. So lets see how real is this thought or is it just like a new “roti, kapra, makaan” slogan (perception) for the innocent and believing masses of the Pakistan without any basis in the reality

So What will change?

Vision
Imran Khan number of time has said that he will have a single education system in Pakistan. Thats a very good thougth. Currently we have Matriculation, Madrassah & British O’ Level system in Pakistan. Now these three systems are quite extreme to each other. So i wander which system he will pick. I looked for the answer but i have failed to find any answer. If you have heard or read any statement by Imran Khan or PTI that with what education system they will replace the current tripartite system then i will be glad to know and will like to correct myself. For the purpose of keeping it short i m not going to other examples where he just made claims without any plan of action. So i feel he don’t have any plan it is just a perception.

Speeches

Now lets talk about him as a speaker.

So what Imran Khan talked about In Quetta jalsa? He said where is the money for the Baluchistan development is going. if i will come in power, economy will boast. and above all NAWAZ SHARIF is the cause of the problem in Balochistan. Now is there anything different than what Bilawal Zardari Bhutto would have talked about, had he addressed in Quetta or Larkana? Has there anything new other than making tall claims without any plan or vision and accusing the opponents. Nawaz Sharif might be an arch enemy of him, but he and his party has zero presence in Balochistan. Why tell the Baluchs about someone they hardly know. Balochistan is full of crisis and full of potential and i have heard and believed that PTI has a very learned team. It would have been my pleasure had Imran Khan proposed some plans for the development and advancement of Balochistan, prepapred and presented by his very talented and learned team.

Lets talk about Karachi address. Karachi land of lights which has been colored with blood because of few armed parties. What he talked there. Okay let me give you a hint, he didnt talk about Karachi’s problem’s solutions. He talked about Nawaz Sharif, yup. Seriously PTI supporter, is this is the best your party leader can do?? Does he have any vision or his eyes are fixed on Nawaz Sharif only.

So i don’t see any difference in the address and speeches he does and which are done by other parties, They also have same claims and statement and accusations. Perception is it has chance, Reality is nothing has changed.

Statements
Now come to countless bold statements he have given. Starting from his pre-significance era.
Claiming that he will get MQM be declared terrorist organization by the UK authorities. What happened.? He didnt even say a word on the firing which happened on Sindh Love rally which all the people know is done by MQM. But Imran Khan put the blame on Nawaz Sharif.

In Lahore Jalsa he declared that in 6 months if all the politicans do not declare their assets he will expose. I was really very happy and looking forward to it. 6 months passed nothing happened, rather many corrupt leader joined him. I think he forgot Nawaz Sharif to be blamed for it too.

Then he gave two dharnas in Peshawar & Karachi on the Nato Drone Attacks and Supplies. Drones attacks are still going on. in last week only 3 drone attacks happened.. any statement against them or the government by Imran Khan? Nope, Nada, non. Any statement by Imran Khan against Nawaz Sharif? Many. :)

We can continue on this.. but you get the idea. Show me only one plan of action where he said it and delivered it.

Actions

Now come to some of the very important fact. By the way i like to talk with facts & figures and if you have facts & figures then reply else dont bother. Because these statements matter nothing as i have shown earlier.

So Imran khan got elected in 2002 from his Mianwali seat. He remained memeber of the parliament for Five year.
Many bills were passed in that era and many things happened in that era. Starting from Drone strikes. Which started in 2004. Did Imran Khan said anything against it.? i have searched the web but i didnt find any statement by Imran Khan against drone attack while he was the member of the parliament. Were drone strike okay at that time. Even if he gave any statement, he did not resigned from parliament. WHY? why now he expect opposition to resign on every issue. Why in his time of being an MNA he never resigned while multiple instances of events happend. Starting from drone strike, Lal Masjid Operation, passing of bills. passing of NRO and other bills.? Did he approve all those things.?

Lets talk about now. This government is very corrupt. everyone knows. Corruption in Hajj, Corruption in Railways, in PIA in Rental Power almost in everything. I asked this question with many PTI supporter that Imran Khan has an awesome, learned, talented team. So how many corruption cases Imran Khan has taken to the court against the government. If not than what his learned, awesome, talented team is doing.? tapping thumbs or sleeping or too lazy to work anything?

Or PTI does not believe that the courts are independent now.? or CJ Iftikhar is biased against PTI?

Knowledge

Now lets talk about some of his knowledge. A bit while ago when he had an interview with Saleem Safi When Saleem safi asked why he pushed old people and brough forward new people.. he said Prophet(SAW) did that. and gave the example of Hazrat Umar (RA) where he does not even know the Hazrat Umar (RA) is considered to be 40th muslim and considered as one of the earliest muslims. All muslims before the battle of Badar are considered first phase muslims. Similarly if we have to divide PTI’s struggle into two parts earlier struggle & later struggle, we can put the mark around Lahore Jalsa. and now see that none of the top manager in the PTI current top regime was part of the PTI before PTI earlier struggle.
Shah Mehmood.
Javed Hashmi
Shafqat Cheema
Abrar ul Haq
Jahangir Khan Tareen
and the list continues
all of these people who are enjoying top posts, joined the party after the Lahore jalsa. They have not been through the struggle of the PTI. I respected the PTI struggle but now they have sold theirselves and it gives me sadness to say that i feel Imran Khan lies a lot.

Comparison with others

Now last argument which i get is that he has got a track record. Definitely Shaukat Khanum Memorial Hospital is a big achievement. and i salute him for this great charity work. But does that one thing make him a saint? We have Al-Khidmat Foundation, Khidmat-e-Khalq foundation, Al-rashid foundation and many other organizations doing some amazing social welfare works which were even praised by UN and other european organization when the flood and other catastrophe’s hit Pakistan. We know how their political wings do when they come in power. So i will just say dont be short sighted. SKMH is an achievement but behind it was mother’s love and that surely is very very strong.

But looking at Imran Khan impartially and realistically with the facts and figures of the ground i will just say A man full of vengeance is not a man, i want to lead my country. A Man full of hate is not a man, i want to lead my country, A man full of ignorance is not a man, i want to lead my country a man full of arrogance is not a man, i want to lead my country.
DO YOU want such a MAN to lead your country?

A synopsis of political talk shows in Pakistan

Political Talk shows have become quite popular in Pakistan. They have given rise to awareness and although it has not helped much in changing the political scanario of the country but its too early to judge its impact on political scene also. More over the contribution of the Talk shows on many important issues cannot be ignored. But these talk shows themselves are becoming “mafias” although its a hard word to use, but its the reality. They have huge a impact in creating a noise on the scene about any issue or diverting the public’s attention from any critical issue. So its very important to know the biases of the political anchor so we do not accept everything they say but apply our own common sense and understanding to the issues and the host from which background he is coming.

Every person has some affiliation and bias-ness in him/her. But the best person is the one who keep his bias-ness out of argument & discussion and talks on merit with logic and facts & figures and listen without pre-judging and pre-labeling anyone and any argument. I hope and wish we can increase our level of harmony and acceptability in discussions and then only we can move forward and progress. There is a saying of Prophet (SAW) that “Knowledge-Intellect is the lost inheritance of a Believer, Wherever he get it he should acquire it”

I dont watch lot of TV talk shows but the few i watch i will give you my brief biased opinion on them.

News Night with Talat Hussain:

This is my favorite talk show. Although Mr. Talat himself is leftist but he is the only unbiased anchor in the talk shows. More over before being leftist he is nationalist. So his biasness is mostly for the country and national interest. Some of his outstanding programs were on Raymond Davis case. Although recently i do feel he is a bit irritated and frustrated by the blatant lies and insincerity of the current crop of the politicians. I do appreciate when he does his own analysis on any critical issues.

Summary:

+ Nationalist touch always present in his programs.

+ Personal biases are well contained

+ manages the show well

+ Give full chance to the guest to answer

+ Quite sharp and quick witted.

+ sometime does non-political shows also which are quite interesting like the one over Arfa Karim

Capital Talk with Hamid Mir

This is one of the more informative shows. Mr. Hamid Mir is quite well connected and have lot of inside information. His shows are always political and i dont remember seeing any non-political shows. Although he look like to side with right wing but i feel he from the heart he is a left wing anchor. He does shows his biases time and again. Secondly i feel sometime he just cant really help not to force his opinion on people. Like once he started writing in favor of Quid e Azam asking a Hindu poet to write the national anthem for the Pakistan but he didnt research the story completely. Neither that hindu poet nor the facts from Pakistan Radio backed his story but his personal biases wanted it to be true.

Summary

+ Quite sharp and quick witted.

+ Lot of Information in his program

+ get some of the most important people in his program

- Biases are not well contained (Supporting leftist views are quite apparent at times).

- Fuel the fights at times, but i wont say it too wrong as the public should need to be shown the true faces of the politicians

Shahid Nama with Dr. Shahid Masood

He is one of the oldest anchor of the political talk shows. It wont be wrong to call him the father of taking the initiative of the true political talk shows culture in Pakistan. But he is not journalist, so he maybe well connected but he lacks lot of information. Sometime he repeats a thing or two too many times in his programs. Questions are also not very well formed and to the point. He himself holds rightest views. but more on the center right. As he is one of the oldest and one of the most renowned anchor so he does get lot of good people on his shows.

Summary

+ Mostly have important guests in his program

- Takes too much time in his own analysis and talk

- Questions are not well formed and not very clear.

Hasb e Haal

Although its not a proper political talk shows but the first two segments of the programs are on the news of the day. Mostly the humourous analysis on the news is the way to highlight the corruption and try to put a stop on these activities. Although it has not provided any, what so ever, hurdle to the corruption but it has definitely helped in awareness and also provided a bit of humour to a very depressed and tense public. The views expressed are mostly nationalist and shows a sense of concern for the country.

Summary

+ balanced and nationalist views

+ No political guest are in the show.. (tired of hearing the lies, insincerity, dishonesty and total bakwas of  all the politicians)

+ Good awareness for the people.

+/- nice touch of humor although i m starting to feel a bit annoyed by couple of characterization played by Azizi. (Hint: two character he plays most)

- Too much time is wasted on personal fights which i know are shown as a humor but i feel it should be spent on some other segment or script better.

Other talk shows i dont watch that regularly.. but i will give my broken analysis on all the talk shows i have seen or i feel worth talking about. :)

Agartala & Memogate: Another conspiracy or Reality??

This post is totally in national interest. I am trying to keep my bias out of this and i want people to realise the importance of transpiracy and the justice through court.

I have been following the court’s action on memogate very closely and Alhamdulillah i feel that court have been quite fair and totally unbias. Memogate is a very important case and although i have not been one who was alive at the time of agartala conspiracy case but i can tell that this memogate case is not any less important than that agartala conspiracy case which was one of the reason for the division of the United Pakistan.

I know many of you like me, might not have been born at the time of agartala conspiracy so this blog post is going to inform you about that important “conspiracy”

It was Ayub Khan era and the uprising for the seperate bangladesh was sort of started. In January 1968 Ayub Khan government agencies arrested 28 people in charge of conspiring to secede East Pakistan from Pakistan. The people arresed included military personnel, civil servants. The charges said that the persons engaged in conpiracy met Mr P.N. Ojha (first secretary of the Indian High Commission in Dhaka) and visited Agartala (a place in India) to discuss plans with two Indian officers. The case initiated against 35 persons including Sheikh Mujibur Rehman. The case accused that the defendants were plotting to deprive Pakistan of its soverignity over a part of its terroitory by an armed revolt with weapons and ammunition and funds provided by India. Many parties including PPP , PML, JI held protest and procession against the government on this case. Seeing the pressure from all quarters the government buckle down and withdrew the case.

The justice was avoided, court case was withdrew, transparency was muddled and BANGLADESH formed.

Almost 40 years later Sheikh Hasina Wajed Confessed that agartala was a reality and she was there in the meeting. And it was not a conpiracy as many would like to believe in current Pakistan.

I know our agencies have been muddled in politics, they have done thousands of wrong but when they are trying to do the right then we should not be the one to conpire against them.
As Allah says in Quran In Maeda (Ayat 8)
“Aye Imaan walo! tum Allah ki khaatir haq par qaem ho jao aur insaaf k sath gawahi dainay walay bann jao aur kisi qaum kee adawat tumhain khilaaf e adal par amaada na ker day, adal kiya karo jo parhaizgari kay ziada qareeb hai aur Allah Taala say dartay raho aur yakeen mano k Allah Taala tumharay aemaal say ba-khabar hai”
The english translation is better
O ye who believe! Be steadfast witnesses for Allah in equity, and let not hatred of any people seduce you that ye deal not justly. Deal justly, that is nearer to your duty. Observe your duty to Allah. Lo! Allah is Informed of what you do.”

It such a beautiful ayat for current situation that i m totally amazed at it.. Our hatred for agencies should not make us NOT do Justice on this importance case.

Let just have a comparison between agartala and Memogate
1) A conspiracy has been detected in both cases
2) Conspiracy is related to the soverignity of Pakistan
3) Some political figures and civil servants are accused.
4) Lots of hue and cry has been created muddling the facts and figures and trying to derail the case
5) Bangladesh formed and still waiting for the final decision on this memogate case

I hope we realise the importance and significance of this case and let the court decide.

Lots of objections were given by the Hussain Haqqani lawyer and interestingly i find the judges agreeing to them

The commission is composed of High court judges which means that the parties can appeal against the verdict in supreme court.

Trial has been made open so no body can distort the facts and arguments given by any party.

No judge in commission is taken from Punjab so as any party cannot say that the establishment is trying to force a decision.

Still if we are badmouthing against the commission than we are fighting against Pakistan. So are you fighting against Pakistan?

A synopsis of Pakistan’s political parties

This is just my short view of Pakistan political parties. Very condensed and very opinionated.

PPP

A left wing, liberal party with no clear political, social or economic agenda. Party has no values other than to make money and do corruption. Most of the members of this party use foul language and show low level of moral and ethical values. Has a reasonably large fan base called as Jayalas. Leadership is very sharp and cunning and ready to exploit the fan base for personal gains. Country faces economic crisis everytime they come in power. The original family who formed the party is sidelined.

PML(N)

A right wing party with leadership being more liberal in reality then being shown. This party has quite a few smart peoples but the amazing things is that they are least used. The party leadership is not sharp and neither smart but have ethical and moral values and humbleness. More over they are afraid of military and live in past mostly, so lack clear direction and vision for the future. Not ready to accept the mistakes and move on. They do corruption indirectly. Also they lack discussion and sharing of opinion, therefore even after having the most of the good minds in the politics they have performed poorly. Got good support from establishment in past. Fanbase is not very large and neither very patriotic to it. so contain sensible fanbase

PTI

Cant tell if they are right wing or left wing, probably no-wing party with just one aim to get in power. :) They are currently establishment’s darling. Leadership is arrogant and believes know all, and have all solutions. currently involved only in splashing muds on others. No performance to speak of. Mostly involved in petty issues when larger issues are being faced by the country. fanbase is large and very blind folded. Highly popular in younger generation

JI

A purely right wing party with high numbers of scholar from a specific background. Failing to attract youth these days. Dont know how to project itself in politics. Current leadership is not ready to take on tough questions. Have a good management and organization. Discussion and opinion sharing is common. Have the capacity to create a unified vision. Dont use media very effectively.

ANP

A left wing liberal party which has gone corrupt immensely. Do show lot of political skills. Bad governance and corruption is rampant in their rule of law. Not any more strongly connected with their own ideology. Involved in the pettiest of issues and never tried to become a national party. Played on their ethical background.

MQM

Another no-wing party. One day they will be protesting for the release of Aafia Siddiqui and next day they will be  supporting america. Top leadership has gone mindless. Strongly associate with violence and killing and destruction. Always used ethnic background. Have many people from middle class, but they have been corrupted and made criminals. Used by establishment for its purpose and benefit from time to time. Strongest party organization.

Hussain Haqqani & Mansor Ijaz BBM exposes Benazir Killers also

Recently the BBM conversation between Hussain Haqqani and Mansor Ejaz were revealed. Although lots of programs have been done on it, but unfortunately I see that everyone is doing a copy cat on it. Instead of doing their own investigative journalism they are trying to regurgitate the same information in more inflammatory ways.

Yes I had some free time so I listened to all the conversation in Talat’s News Night Program. And I found one very interesting revelation in it. The one which no one has given any importance and which should be the second most important revelation of the whole “episode”

I want to make it clear here that I cannot verify the authenticity of this conversation but i do know that through forensics and other techniques the data of the BBM conversation can be verified. So setting aside the validity of the data one snippet of this conversation is:

05/09/2011 12:31 HH: Are you in London? I am here just for 36 hours. Can we meet for after dinner coffee or s thing?

05/09/2011 12:32 MI: I m in Monaco but it s no problem for me to fly up. Takes 90 minutes. What time did you have in mind? Where do you want to meet?

05/09/2011 12:35 HH: Pls call me. I m at the Park Lane Intercon             +442071060900       room 43005/09/2011 12:35 HH: Waiting for ur call now 05/09/2011 13:37 MI: Could access to the 3 stooges who widow the man be arranged as part of the bigger picture?

The simple translation of this bolded sentence is that can Hussain Haqqani talk to the three people who widow Zardari or in other words who killed Benazir.

This sentence proves three things,

1. Does this means Hussain Haqqani knows who killed Benazir Bhutto?

2. This will also imply that Hussain Haqqani being one of the closest friend of Asif Zardari, means Asif Zardari also probably knows who killed Benazir Bhutto and its not TTP or Afghan Taliba. Because I don’t think any Taliban is roaming in London. Also if Mansoor Ejaz knows that who killed benazir bhutto and he also knows that Hussain Haqqani knows that i think it is not a very well guarded secret.

3. It also shows that PPP Ambassador has close terms with the killers of Benazir Bhutto. Does this mean that PPP is protecting the killers of Benazir Bhutto? And are members of PPP are the killers of Benazir or they are friends of Benazir’s killers. Can any foreign element or agency be also part of this wicked plan?

But one thing is certain that this one line is one of the most important line of the BBM conversation. It expose many lies and i think its the duty of the talk show’s anchor to do their homework and try to critically analyze all the information they get. Until or unless they don’t expose the double standards of every culprit and corrupt politician they are not doing justice to their job.

It might also expose how much our politicians have themselves invited the foreign interference in our internal matters, although all of them say otherwise.

I wish PTI or PML(N) or any other party goes in the court and ask the court to include Mr Haqqani in the Benazir  Murder trial as this information shows that he knows these people.

One general thought for all of us is that these political people who are ready to kill even their own leaders then how can they be honest with us.

Probably Last & best chance for PML(N) to redeem itself. (Resignation en-masse)

Lately PML(N) has been showing pretty childish behaviour, as mentioned earlier they act as coward, confused & stupid in their statements and actions. But time & again PPP govt. has given ample oppurtunities to PML(N) to give its government a tough time.

Taking a stance that they want this system to continue while letting the corruption bring havoc to our society is in no way going to win them any support whats so ever.

The biggest blunder PML(N) is doing that its fighting more against Army and Imran Khan than the real issue. Yes Martial Laws have not done any good to Pakistan but so has the Democratically elected government. Which have been involved in lot of corruption, sabotaging their opposition, doing nothing and shouting loud. So the first thing PML(N) should do is to stop making statements against Army. Making statement against army or ISI is not useful rather it will hurt them more.
Take the example of Turkist Government. Turkey has also seen many martial law. but the latest government which has come in power for the third time. Only because they delivered on their promises, increased the standards of the people, eradicated poverty & corruption. People supported them. And now recently when government & Army developed some differences. Top Brass of Army resigned and government accepted those resignation & army just couldn’t do anything like imposing martial law. Because they also know that the people are supporting the government. So PML(N) should also remember actions speaks louder then words.

Secondly they should stop making statement against Imran Khan. Imran Khan is not in government and neither has any influence in policies rather he is giving PML(N) lot of corruption related support which PML(N) can use against government by going into supreme court and getting some verdict against government. PML(N) is stupid by not exploiting this oppurtunity.

Now comes the hard part. The actions which can show to the people of Pakistan that PML(N) is totally against corrupt government. If PPP government does not take any action on Memo issue, then PML(N) should firstly take this matter in supreme court. Second it should resign from all National & Provincial Assembly seats.
What will happen in Senate Election.

There are total 50 seats to be re-elected. 11 from each province, 2 from National Assembly & 4 of the minorities i think.

  • Punjab Assembly will be dissolved as the largest party had resigned. Also no senate election for the 11 seats of Punjab. So PML(N) will loose nothing.
  • In Sindh & Balochistan, PML(N) has no presence. SO no loss of PML(N)
  • In National Assembly PML(N) has no majority, neither any strong group. so these seats were never going to PML(N). So no loss here too.
  • In KP Assembly, PML(N)’s resignation will cause them to loose around 1 or at most 2 seats.

So if PML(N) resigns from all seats its not going to loose more than 2 – 3 seats in Senate. Which is not a bad  or a great loss.

But the issue of Pakistan sovergnity & corruption in Pakistan are just too big to let them go or continue. This Memo incident has provided them with yet another oppurtunity to redeem themselves and win back some of their lost support. If Army want to take over then no matter how strong you are, or how strong you think democracy is (reminder 1999 coup), it is going to take over. But getting the label of B-Team of Government or Friendly Opposition is not a title which goes well with the supporter of the PML(N).

Moreover the strength of demoncracy against military in Turkey has just proved that it is the result and performance of the government that matters to the public and nothing else.

Let see how PML(N) take this oppurtunity or Nawaz Sharif goes abroad on yet another medical checkup or a tour. :)

PML(N): Confused, coward & stupid. The end is in sight

The only words i have for the PML situation, reactions and statements is that they are confused, coward & stupid.

The current situation is exposing the total lackness of political sense of Nawaz Sharif. He is coward because he is afraid. and stupid because he is living in the past and confused because he dont know what he want to do. You dont find any vision or leadership.

Problem is that day by day people are getting more aware and getting more views to hear. They can get news from variety of sources. Denying a rumour without facts is not going to change people’s opinion. Making statements only without actions is not going to change people’s perception.

Now the time for actions have come. Do they really think that current government is a threat to the security of Pakistan. If so then all action should be taken, because nothing is more important than security. No government in history is ever going to say that sorry we are too corrupt so we are quitting. Come on be realistic.

If you are giving concession to the government on the name that we want to preserve democracy then

1. How many people are NOT going to believe that you are not part of the government or part of the corruption

2. and WHY people will like democracy if it does not fullfill their rights, provide them with better way of life. We dont eat democracy or martial law. People (WE) need better life, protection of their rights and social justice and social norms, whether it be in democracy or Martial Law.

Secondly people need actions, PML(N) has quite a few people in his camp which are not honest. Whose cases of corruption, terror or unlawful actions have come up in the paper and in the media. PML(N) has the best oppurtunity to do a free and fair party trial of such people and give them punishment through party and take back their seats and stop supporting them. Remember Actions always speaks louder then words. If they manage to do such thing they will not be required to make statement against Imran Khan every day.

Lastly instead of asking Supreme Court to take suo moto action against the corruption of the present government, they should themselve file cases against the government in the court. They have the resources and teams and they can show that they are really against the corruption in the government.

Lastly stop being a defender of Democracy. Democracy is not a religion for which we should focus so much. If they really work towards the increasing the quality of life for common man, people will defend it. If not then Democracy is certainly not good for Pakistan. Its the survival and the success of Pakistan that matters in the end.
